The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre provides a comprehensive cancer diagnostic, treatment and support service for patients in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and London Boroughs. As an integral part of its radiotherapy expansion project the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust contracted with Elliott Fastrack to design and construct an Ancillary Building providing support services to a revolutionary linear accelerator installation.
The building, with a floor area of 1940 m2 provides both clinical and non-clinical functions on three storeys. The full steel frame construction was rapidly enclosed using the Elliott Fastrack fast track panel system, allowing the complex internal services and fit out to proceed whilst external brickwork and cladding were applied off critical path.
The entire project was completed in 32 weeks at a cost of £2,965,338.00.
