Birchwood Classrooms for the Future

Teaching staff and pupils from the Bishop’s Stortford area are benefiting from a new Teacher Resource Centre constructed by the Elliott Fastrack as part of the Government’s drive to improve standards within schools.

The new building at Birchwood High School will house flexible teaching areas and state-of-the-art Information Computer Technology. It has been funded with £500,000 from the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) under its Schools for the Future initiative.

Made up of eight modular units, the new Teacher Resource Centre is used as additional and flexible teaching space for tutorials and larger groups and as a satellite facility for the Hertfordshire's teacher training centre. It will also be made available to all schools in the area, the local community and businesses.

The construction of the modules began in July at our Bristol factory. They were delivered and installed on-site in August. After the interior fit-out was finished, the building was handed over, on schedule, at the beginning of September.
